A Central Planning Cell (CPC) is being constituted in the institute that is responsible for planning the all round growth & developmental activities of the institute particularly, managing all records pertaining to the research projects, publications, awards, achievements, dissertations, projects details, etc. CPC is actively involved in Research & Developmental activities of the institute. The CPC has research committees for promoting and directing research. Workshops/ training programmes/ sensitization programmes are conducted by the CPC to promote a research culture on campus. The CPC facilitates researchers of eminence to visit the campus as adjunct professors
Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology has constituted its Internal Research Scientific Committee (IRSC) with the vision to create and promote students and faculty to engage in research. The vision of IRSC is to identify strategic themes and directions for research activities within the institution.
The purpose of institute is to contribute towards the ethical research by establishing a standard, consistent ethical review mechanism for research in various fields of Biotechnology including health & biomedical sciences, environment, agriculture, clinical & medical microbiology and industrial sciences. Significance faculty involvement in research is evident. Therefore, the institution has an official Code of Ethics to check malpractices and plagiarism in research. The IEC ensures that the cardinal principles of research ethics, autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice are considered at every stage, including the planning, conduct and reporting of the proposed studies. Towards the end of research, the IEC shall evaluate the aspects of informed consent process, risk benefit ratio, distribution of burden and benefits, and provisions for appropriate compensation wherever required. The IEC will monitor the research throughout the study through appropriate well documented procedures. To obtain IEC clearance, all research proposals should be submitted to the CIRD.
For Institutional Ethical Clearance, proposals should be submitted to Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology’s Ethics Committee in the prescribed application format along with all relevant documents.
Intellectual property Rights (IPR) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions, literary and artistic work. Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology strives to protect its research work, by law, which enables people to earn recognition & benefits from what they invent or create. By striking the right balance between the interests of innovators and the wider public interests, the IP system aims to foster an environment in which creativity & innovation can flourish.
This repository division is in the process of developing a substantial array of resources and reagents, protocols etc which would be available to be utilized by scientists and other researchers/ organizations at institutional, local and national front for various research purposes.

The Mini Incubator Scheme is for talented young buds from Schools, colleges and other academia, start-ups or an Incubatee (Researchers, PhDs, Medical degree holders, Biomedical Engineering. Graduates in science, & 10+2 students) who have an innovative idea which may be in the nascent and planning stage and there is an unmet need for mentorship and initial funding.
