Lal Institute of Biotechnology, Jaipur Dr. Sonika Saxena appeared on Doordarshan’s popular show “Vigyaan Jagat” to deliver an inspiring & engaging talk about the miracles of Biotechnology. The talk was based on the importance of Biotechnology and allied areas for the welfare of human society.
The use of biotechnology tools encompasses the production of food and feed, pharmaceuticals, chemical products to energy sources. It has been central to these advances, progressively offering the ability to make more complicated medicines and vaccines, opening up doors to the treatment and prevention of a broader set of diseases.
The conversation later moved to the pandemic and the role of biotechnologist in fighting it. Science emerges as one true saviour of mankind as the Covid -19 pandemic has really unveiled the true importance of Biotechnology in the control and prevention of this disease. Though the biotech industry has been hit by the shortage of supply, transportation issues, and other problems, the pandemic has opened lots of scope and job opportunities in this industry.
