World Day Against Child Labour 2020
Did you know?
According to International Labour Organization (ILO), Worldwide 218 million children between the age of 5 to 17 years are in employment. Out of which 152 million are victims of child labour and as the current COVID-19 pandemic has inflicted stress on family income, the numbers are yet to increase.
So, today on World Day Against Child Labour Let's pledge to protect children from child labour now more than ever. Let's understand the fact that education and literacy is the only way to prevent these tiny hands from picking up a broom.
Let's do our bit by understanding the fact that every child has their own right to their childhood.
And finally let's acknowledge these powerful words by Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi:
"If not now, then when? If not you, then who? If we are able to answer these fundamental questions, then perhaps we can wipe away the blot of human slavery".
